It was a little worn looking by the end of the season but I knew I could spruce it up. All the trimmings were items I already had in my stash. I added the star on the roof in memory of my dad who built a huge Christmas star for his house in New York and later in Florida.</p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjdoVT2Kvh89lWWW7Gan0sm2K5_VcvSME5z7cYbbVCBV-CKNK95UkLpKjr7d2d54m7AQowONiNOGsQcOaCZeH_v9k4zLJEB1V-PejrVzBlEbeIF1nKlXlJlWCwbZ5DVjrsiIW3cHMvnMFI/s1632/F677A3CF-AE09-402C-A3F9-E1AB91008B22.jpeg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1632" data-original-width="1632" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjdoVT2Kvh89lWWW7Gan0sm2K5_VcvSME5z7cYbbVCBV-CKNK95UkLpKjr7d2d54m7AQowONiNOGsQcOaCZeH_v9k4zLJEB1V-PejrVzBlEbeIF1nKlXlJlWCwbZ5DVjrsiIW3cHMvnMFI/s320/F677A3CF-AE09-402C-A3F9-E1AB91008B22.jpeg" /></a></div><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg5odU6A5YkOf6l5LP7OE33zzyefmSQWJVx0K2ifMz3plL22Yt2oFw85uZIYRJYemiYvQv797OL1TggVksqrg_QvgzB896l6sOEEmb0ELajVyCw4_5Xznk6P1Wc8-dCedU7Y2vmWf9kpYc/s1632/F55472FF-A2E7-4D35-9B89-88C3079E45FB.jpeg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1632" data-original-width="1632" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg5odU6A5YkOf6l5LP7OE33zzyefmSQWJVx0K2ifMz3plL22Yt2oFw85uZIYRJYemiYvQv797OL1TggVksqrg_QvgzB896l6sOEEmb0ELajVyCw4_5Xznk6P1Wc8-dCedU7Y2vmWf9kpYc/s320/F55472FF-A2E7-4D35-9B89-88C3079E45FB.jpeg" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;">The pickup truck is actually an ornament that started out as red. <div style="text-align: left;">
Hi Friends! I had so much fun entering the challenge over at the <a href="http://frillyandfunkie.blogspot.com/2019/04/spring-is-in-full-bloom-challenge.html" target="_blank">Frilly and Funkie Challenge Blog</a> back a few months ago that I decided to enter again. Their theme for this week is <a href="http://frillyandfunkie.blogspot.com/2019/04/spring-is-in-full-bloom-challenge.html" target="_blank">"Spring is in Full Bloom"</a> .</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
For this project, I decided to make an articulated paper doll. As a child, I loved creating my own dolls out of discarded gift boxes. I still have several of them! For this beauty, I used papers from Craft Consortium's "Tell the Bees" collection and a few other random sheets of pattern paper I had on hand.</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjXMamrE8nD0ZI5-t0nTvgpvZmzVBNtMz7wPjctjY61je4Xg4VUIVTERVMrchC9GaRcFy8XlWtbIcz6M08XNbyu373QTzSRyilPGbbc8cswIjdk-dpL67f9ugB30qDcNTk5XsQa1XVOeos/s1600/image1.jpeg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1500" data-original-width="1000" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjXMamrE8nD0ZI5-t0nTvgpvZmzVBNtMz7wPjctjY61je4Xg4VUIVTERVMrchC9GaRcFy8XlWtbIcz6M08XNbyu373QTzSRyilPGbbc8cswIjdk-dpL67f9ugB30qDcNTk5XsQa1XVOeos/s400/image1.jpeg" width="266" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
This doll measures about 11" tall from head to toe. Her bodice was created from some fabric flower trim I found on clearance at Hobby Lobby. The flowers in her hair, on her wrists, and in her gown were all "fussy cut" to add dimension to the piece. I used some pretty vintage lace that was gifted to me years ago by a friend. </div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Both her arms and her skirt extend out. Her skirt reveals a Springtime quote. </div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
In our neck of the woods, Spring truly is exploding with LIFE! </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

I recently created this quick mini mini as an Easter giveaway for my Facebook friends. The album measures 4.5” high by 5.5” wide and it’s base is made of heavyweight cardstock. I used Pebbles’ Garden Party 6” x 6” paper pad and some Spring themed embellishments I purchased last year from Target.</div>

“Easter is the only time of the year when it’s safe</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
to put all your eggs in one basket.”</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
This year, I decided to add a few new items to our small collection of Easter decorations.</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
This piece measures about 7” in height. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I started by stamping and coloring the Gorjuss Girl image</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
and the Easter basket. Next came the base construction. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I used all recycled materials that: a coaster, a small </div>

frosting container and an empty ribbon roll. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Next came the decorating. Lots of Spring and </div>

Easter embellishments I’ve purchased at The Dollar Tree </div>

or on clearance over the last couple of years.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
This little cutie was created in only two nights. I think that’s a record for me! Working on a few more projects. Check back soon!</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">

Blessings,</div>

Thanks so much for stopping by! I'm very thankful to be guest designing today for the <a href="https://frillyandfunkie.blogspot.com/2019/03/guest-designer-melissa-divelbiss.html" target="_blank">Frilly and Funkie Challenge Blog</a>. This week's challenge is being hosted by Sara Emily (aka Sara's Closet) and the theme this round is "Pass the Tissues, Please". Participants are asked to incorporate tissue paper into their vintage or shabby chic projects. More details for the challenge can be found on their blog.<br />
<br />
For my project, I decided to alter one of the many cigar boxes I've collected over the years. Inside the box, I've created a simple mini album showcasing some of my favorite flowers from some of my favorite places to visit.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi4S29zR08v54IlhLsmZepa7lz02RF4ibPKkkuaS69AX6Aeii12oYGPFHvlkF-PM-v6c8gU3TSXsQNKLiHYqEoBd4B3_ANkCrM23V40UHIFTtwsrxD6xwiXEUHuYAjyCzM-x4G99JwvLrA/s1600/Image1.jpeg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1067" data-original-width="1600" height="266" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi4S29zR08v54IlhLsmZepa7lz02RF4ibPKkkuaS69AX6Aeii12oYGPFHvlkF-PM-v6c8gU3TSXsQNKLiHYqEoBd4B3_ANkCrM23V40UHIFTtwsrxD6xwiXEUHuYAjyCzM-x4G99JwvLrA/s400/Image1.jpeg" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjLnG8oymeV5Iq8SfR8oXRt__u887ks3sX_rkSefpCZDewZJeRPPsgQpResEbIU15LFHtsgfUh6ikC98kuYMuLRXpPxe5-tVwP9zeh-opaDiO6vWWcX8-DDlSnJJ9pVvmrE8K2zCPwaTPo/s1600/Image2.jpeg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1067" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjLnG8oymeV5Iq8SfR8oXRt__u887ks3sX_rkSefpCZDewZJeRPPsgQpResEbIU15LFHtsgfUh6ikC98kuYMuLRXpPxe5-tVwP9zeh-opaDiO6vWWcX8-DDlSnJJ9pVvmrE8K2zCPwaTPo/s400/Image2.jpeg" width="266" /></a></div>
<br />
This time of year, I start to pine for the peonies that bloom annually in our backyard so I decided to create a single bloom to figure prominently on top of the box. To make this beautiful flower, I layered a piece of copy paper between two sheets of pink and gold polka dot tissue paper using Mod Podge. While it was drying, I created templates of the individual petals in various sizes. Next, I traced the petals onto the tissue paper and built the flower, one petal at a time. Yup, a little time consuming but the result is a super fluffy peony. Just like the real thing, minus the ants!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh0A4gnrVm8sY9NqCrpEIXu_2yatkuEiL_spnV06Bol5G1tUJFwfxUApFjRIIKTwWgZP4_0GVk_K19tOQ5JceruyQwGAlbxfmbPw_Jb5w5ESUPiQvtFnfSD14cXs1POX9uQyYdIgtdRkw8/s1600/Image3.jpeg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1600" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh0A4gnrVm8sY9NqCrpEIXu_2yatkuEiL_spnV06Bol5G1tUJFwfxUApFjRIIKTwWgZP4_0GVk_K19tOQ5JceruyQwGAlbxfmbPw_Jb5w5ESUPiQvtFnfSD14cXs1POX9uQyYdIgtdRkw8/s320/Image3.jpeg" width="320" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
Decoupaging the copy paper along with the tissue gave the petals some much needed stability and allowed for molding and shaping them later on. The stamen of the flower was created simply by fringing a long piece of gold tissue paper and rolling it tightly. The leaves were created using handmade paper I recently found at the craft store. The top of the box is decoupage with a piece of <a href="https://www.thefunkiejunkie.com/Finnabair_Tissue_Paper_Musica_967208_p/prima_967208.htm" target="_blank">Finnabair's 'Musica' Tissue Paper</a>. I kept the rest of the box fairly plain, stenciling a simple doily and adding a pearl trim, some lace from my stash, and a metal bee embellishment.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Inside the box, I included a small mini album measuring 5.5"H by 6.5"W. For continuity, the album cover is decoupaged with the same tissue paper used on the outside of the box. The cover photo is one of our peonies from last year. The lilacs pictured inside the lid are from a bush I received for Mother's Day from my husband and sons several years ago.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEioVd6ZKStxU0d4tJFSxEH6EBgkcv4fw2uSD8Xe3_MqImDaUbMeP5YpfAFzM99XVeD_ciBewp8Hc1m0b0c_qfAWaZj_aemw3BaqPxuu43uJ3GTD49wn1cNF-VqtLZirDQgaw7TJFGczIn0/s1600/Image4.jpeg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1067" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEioVd6ZKStxU0d4tJFSxEH6EBgkcv4fw2uSD8Xe3_MqImDaUbMeP5YpfAFzM99XVeD_ciBewp8Hc1m0b0c_qfAWaZj_aemw3BaqPxuu43uJ3GTD49wn1cNF-VqtLZirDQgaw7TJFGczIn0/s400/Image4.jpeg" width="266" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Inside the album, I chose more photos of flowers from our yard and also from some of the beautiful gardens we are privileged to have in our area. Each page layout also includes lines from a poem entitled "Song of the Flower" by Khalil Gibran. Every page is layered with a mix of tissue paper, cheese cloth, and various embellishments. </div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Greetings lasses (and lads)! It's that time of year where EVERYONE is Irish at least for a day! Despite the fact that I don't have an ounce of Irish in me, I love St. Patrick's Day! This time of year as a child, I always wished I was Irish but I had to be content with the corn beef and cabbage dinner my very Puerto Rican mom would prepare once a year (with arroz on the side---of course). I was secretly jealous of my Irish classmate who knew how to step dance. Today, I enjoy watching the competitions. I really like the music and the energy of the whole experience but what I love are the beautiful dresses that are worn by the competitors. So much detail goes into the making of a dress and the BLING!!! The sparklier the better!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
This year, I decided to add to my small St. Pat's display and create my interpretation of an Irish Solo Dress. While researching, I discovered that these lovely dresses come in a HUGE array of colors and designs. They're just beautiful but I kept mine fairly simple. The results are below:</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

Hi Friends!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
It’s been a loooong time since I last posted on my blog! I’ve been wanting to revive it for a while and the latest challenge over at the <a href="http://frillyandfunkie.blogspot.com/2019/01/winter-blues-challenge.html?m=1" target="_blank">Frilly and Funkie Challenge Blog</a> was the perfect opportunity to do so. The theme for this month’s challenge is <a href="http://frillyandfunkie.blogspot.com/2019/01/winter-blues-challenge.html?m=1" target="_blank">“Winter Blues”</a>. We had to create a monochromatic piece using the color blue, which happens to be my favorite color.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
As soon as I read the instructions, the song, Blue Moon, popped into my head. I just happened to have a pile of <a href="https://www.thefunkiejunkie.com/Tim_Holtz_Idea_ology_Paper_Dolls_TH93555_p/ido_th93555.htm" target="_blank">Tim Holtz’s paper dolls </a>on my desk so I decided to start by finding a suitable image. When I came across the boy and his dog, a story began to emerge. I imagined this sweet little fur baby as a stray pup, wishing for (and finding) someone to love and be loved by. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
With that song playing over and over in my head, I set out to work. I started by creating a 6”x6” cardstock shadow box using this <a href="https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=Z-Ta-o5Yx30&t=913s" target="_blank">tutorial</a>. Once that was done, I cut the moon and stars out using Tim Holtz’s die. After that, I gathered all the blue paper, ink, paint, glitter and vintage embellies I had on hand and went to town!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: 'Helvetica Neue', Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">What I love about this particular collection is that it's probably their most feminine Fall/Halloween collection yet. The colors and images are gorgeous and very versatile. For my project, I decided to alter one of two paper mache books I found at my local Goodwill store. I got them for just a couple of dollars and one of them went from this:</span><br />

<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: 'Helvetica Neue', Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">TO THIS! I love fairy tales and that was the focus of this piece. I started out by giving the book a good couple of coats of gesso and then some black paint. After that, the fun began!</span><span style="font-family: 'Helvetica Neue', Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"> The book measures approximately 7.5"x 11.25". I gave the pages a coating of metallic </span><span style="font-family: 'Helvetica Neue', Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">gold</span><span style="font-family: 'Helvetica Neue', Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"> ink and then embossed them for texture. Next, I covered the top pages with "Unsolved </span><span style="font-family: 'Helvetica Neue', Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">Mystery" and rubbed it with some ink in an eggplant color. The whole book was edged in </span><span style="font-family: 'Helvetica Neue', Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">black cotton lace from Hobby Lobby and some bling from AC Moore. The satin </span><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: 'Helvetica Neue', Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">"bookmark" at the bottom was dyed with Ranger's Adirondak Color Wash sprays.</span></div>

<br />
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Times, 'Times New Roman', serif;">This month over at <a href="http://creatingthecraftylife.com/" target="_blank">Creating the Crafty Life</a>, one of our members is hosting a "Paris in July" ATC swap! The guidelines are simple: the cards must be Paris themed, in shades of blues or pinks, fully embellished on the front, and standard ATC size (2.5"x3.5"). </span><br />
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Times, 'Times New Roman', serif;"><br /></span>
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Times, 'Times New Roman', serif;">Before I began, I did a little research to find out what sort of things are happening in Paris during the month of July. This year, the Tour de France began on July 5th in Leeds, West Yorkshire, England and will end in Paris on the Avenue des <span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: #222222; line-height: 16px;">Champs-Élysées</span> on July 27th so I chose this event as the theme for my cards. </span><br />
<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjHWsshow3UdEmxh0EB9mVmk_MX9kpWQSrsgFLru10wqEGI_O7HVKa4HmM29c5AQCF3UBKyus5MTDsDxDO2V_uS8r28wx7gEcQG9T6-fc2wjN26jkVm3CCoHmZM7r_EhgDXElA6yAqAT00/s1600/ATC+3.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjHWsshow3UdEmxh0EB9mVmk_MX9kpWQSrsgFLru10wqEGI_O7HVKa4HmM29c5AQCF3UBKyus5MTDsDxDO2V_uS8r28wx7gEcQG9T6-fc2wjN26jkVm3CCoHmZM7r_EhgDXElA6yAqAT00/s1600/ATC+3.jpg" height="230" width="400" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Each swapper will receive 4 cards. I made two extras: one to keep and one for our hostess. </div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjlaouQZqL2TfunzDj6FcPFv8uzSYiE7XM7QtFSZpAGnpH7-4kOE3qyTbohVu5EmSLL80oCh_NDUmotuJ73gRwib5NL7GFmXcpQ7o34dCUzhrh5KEXoDvPP_XSAKYmKSCBh33_m43MOExc/s1600/ATC+2.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjlaouQZqL2TfunzDj6FcPFv8uzSYiE7XM7QtFSZpAGnpH7-4kOE3qyTbohVu5EmSLL80oCh_NDUmotuJ73gRwib5NL7GFmXcpQ7o34dCUzhrh5KEXoDvPP_XSAKYmKSCBh33_m43MOExc/s1600/ATC+2.jpg" height="400" width="300" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Times, 'Times New Roman', serif;">I have a drawer full of metal gears in all sizes so I adhered them to the cards to mimic the gears on a bicycle. The background is a sketch of the Arc de Triomphe which is located on the western end of the <span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: #222222; line-height: 16px;">Champs-Élysées. I also used a vintage photo of a cyclist from the race. To finish it off, I attached </span></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: #222222; line-height: 16px;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Times, 'Times New Roman', serif;">two very small ribbon roses on the right, the dates of the race, and a vintage street plaque on top.</span></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Each ATC will be sent in a special envelope and a little card explaining some details about the race. Thanks, Christy, for hosting such a great swap! These cards are so quick to make and fun! And it's a great way to share your art with others. :-)</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Have a great weekend!</div>

<br />
A friend of mine over at CCL is on a big ATC kick and it must be contagious because after watching her video, I needed to make some too. :-)<br />
<br />
For those who don't know, ATC is short for "Artist Trading Cards". They've been around a while. Cards are typically 2.5"x 3.5" and are supposed to be traded never sold. It's a great way to use up scraps and a challenge because of the small size. I created the ones below from scraps of Authentique's Glory papers.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgZY8K-NcY1qcbeT7iTOW7AlxOxhpWkXSju-g5-oevBrBNhS0BPb3_hMFHwPAlJJcy9oyD9-xBQ4fQhswT6eu2NtRlyE8pzdGUk_T3kqhzJmyVWivbj2zbcKpgo8qR0n-C6N92oLngSYEY/s1600/Patriotic+ATCs.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgZY8K-NcY1qcbeT7iTOW7AlxOxhpWkXSju-g5-oevBrBNhS0BPb3_hMFHwPAlJJcy9oyD9-xBQ4fQhswT6eu2NtRlyE8pzdGUk_T3kqhzJmyVWivbj2zbcKpgo8qR0n-C6N92oLngSYEY/s1600/Patriotic+ATCs.jpg" height="400" width="300" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
The next project I created was a tag shaped like a 4th of July rocket. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjJG6F-QYWpw6MQhqFrPg_GnDKg-n_icR_aL4uYGl3s4aZT_lUaeVyCRC69HE-YEBvXZtpTBGdJcamBQVQYGg8RLRlGrRfLn9odzxJJ37J9fWhHQgl7Vh1vAdxbgq_7RoVQUXxdwinYvqI/s1600/Patriotic+Tag.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjJG6F-QYWpw6MQhqFrPg_GnDKg-n_icR_aL4uYGl3s4aZT_lUaeVyCRC69HE-YEBvXZtpTBGdJcamBQVQYGg8RLRlGrRfLn9odzxJJ37J9fWhHQgl7Vh1vAdxbgq_7RoVQUXxdwinYvqI/s1600/Patriotic+Tag.jpg" height="400" width="300" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Both projects were quick and relatively easy to do. The hardest and longest part of my creative process is ALWAYS deciding what to do and how to do it!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><b><i>!!!HAPPY FIRST DAY OF SUMMER!!!</i></b></span></div>
<br />
<a href="https://www.blogger.com/blogger.g?blogID=7194008227267736936" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"></a><a href="https://www.blogger.com/blogger.g?blogID=7194008227267736936" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"></a><a href="https://www.blogger.com/blogger.g?blogID=7194008227267736936" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"></a>This month, Misty over at Creating the Crafty Life is hosting a<span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: blue;"> <a href="http://creatingthecraftylife.com/events/red-white-blue-holiday-challenge?rsvpConfirm=1" target="_blank">Red, White, & Blue Holiday Challenge</a>.</span> It's a fun challenge and the prize is awesome as usual.<br />
<br />
We can make anything we want as long as it incorporates the colors red, white, and blue. I decided to alter a 5"x5" preprinted canvas that I picked up at Joann's a while ago in their $1 bin. The canvas started out looking like this:<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgqhOB06YNng4LVWzOjHZyGbPbZm8vVyF3LI8HFKInXfxwpn45IVTpeFOsSuyZR9vSncgCn5fH_-7DEbROhSwiW5qBFGgYHYDWjYgVUUiXgI-EyMgjEYH7ZV3KSs0gaWSM-0KqsppkNw0w/s1600/Princess+Canvas.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgqhOB06YNng4LVWzOjHZyGbPbZm8vVyF3LI8HFKInXfxwpn45IVTpeFOsSuyZR9vSncgCn5fH_-7DEbROhSwiW5qBFGgYHYDWjYgVUUiXgI-EyMgjEYH7ZV3KSs0gaWSM-0KqsppkNw0w/s1600/Princess+Canvas.jpg" height="316" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Cute, but not very patriotic so, after several coats of gesso, inks, papers, paint, and modeling paste, I turned it into this:<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj5-WewmFtAYJbAg_NxuQP3QshrAWnSCAMD7UNqiPmtbuSuGYc8E51-pkyj_pgrn7S4mrLE5pDidnk9a0As3cZ1dNA6_lFJCJ-h6X_tBA75B_1_-uoczTMfynJ2jmTt5rHTo8nD0L8lQ-0/s1600/Patriotic+Altered+Canvas+.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj5-WewmFtAYJbAg_NxuQP3QshrAWnSCAMD7UNqiPmtbuSuGYc8E51-pkyj_pgrn7S4mrLE5pDidnk9a0As3cZ1dNA6_lFJCJ-h6X_tBA75B_1_-uoczTMfynJ2jmTt5rHTo8nD0L8lQ-0/s1600/Patriotic+Altered+Canvas+.jpg" height="400" width="338" /></a></div>
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Most of the papers for this project came from <a href="http://authentiquepaper.com/products/Glory" target="_blank">Authentique's Glory collection</a> from last year. I found the image of the pretty lady on the Internet. Everything else is from the "hoard vault" (my stash).<br />
<br /></div>
<div class="" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<a href="https://www.blogger.com/blogger.g?blogID=7194008227267736936" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"></a><a href="https://www.blogger.com/blogger.g?blogID=7194008227267736936" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"></a><a href="https://www.blogger.com/blogger.g?blogID=7194008227267736936" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"></a>I dyed the little crochet doily using Tim Holtz's Distress Inks in Fired Brick and Faded Jeans. The flag and the blue star on the bottom left were cut from a Tim Holtz Movers and Shapers die I scored at AC Moore this week on clearance for a whopping $1.50! I wanted a fire cracker/rocket on there somewhere so I made one from the papers and used hemp to make the whatchamadingies on the bottom (sorry, the name escapes me right not-will edit later...)</div>
<div class="" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
In the back, I painted the canvas a light blue, then used my script stencil to apply some modeling paste for dimension. The metal piece and blingy halo were also clearance finds from Michael's and AC Moore. The white fringe on the bottom has been in the vault for quite a while. </div>
<div class="" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
The challenge runs until July 6th, so, if there's time, I might be able to squeeze another project in. Up for grabs is this great little prize package:<br />
<br />

I wanted to do a ship in a bottle but since my chubby fingers couldn't fit into a narrow necked bottle, I decided to recycle a pickle jar. Even with the extra room, it was still a little bit of a challenge for my pudgy hands. But I'm happy with the results.<br />
<br />

<div style="text-align: center;">
I constructed the boat origami style and then attached</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
the pretty blue check papers. I used a dowel for the sail</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
and did a lot of fussy cutting. I love the little boy images.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
They remind me of my own sons. :-)</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
The top and bottom of the jar is wrapped with twine and </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I attached a pretty crystal bobble for the knob at the top.</div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
For the "ocean" I used blue cellophane, cut into strips and</div>

melded together with my heat gun. I was able to insert the boat </div>

without glue because its just tall enough to reach the top</div>

and bottom of the jar without being crushed. </div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I used one of the chipboard tags from the collection, a </div>

Tim Holtz compass piece, an anchor from my son's toybox,</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
and assorted roses and shells. I cut a fence from some corrugated paper</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
using a Tim Holtz On the Edge die.</div>

A TP mini is an album made of a several empty toilet paper rolls. They're quick, easy, and a lot of fun to make not to mention a great way to recycle.<br />
<br />
I've had DCWV's Colorful Life papers in my stash for a while and decided to use it for the project below. This mini will hold some of my favorite art quotes. Enjoy!<br />

It was such a great trip and when I saw <a href="http://www.g45papers.com/by-the-sea-category" target="_blank">Graphic 45's beautiful By the Sea collection</a>, I knew exactly what to do with it.<br />
<br />
I created three coordinating projects: a mini album, a box to store our memorabilia, and a <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sextant" target="_blank">sextant</a> for the top of the box because I just had to be different! Below are the photos.<br />
<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0px; text-align: center;">
I love the colors for this collection! Perfect for summer</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0px; text-align: center;">
and patriotic holidays! </div>
<br />

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
For those who don't know,</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
a sextant is a navigational device used by seaman</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
It looks something like this:</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiHO7_cMG8SXGN3EehVEMqNKRIxSjs-qMVNP-2G8KvkcPwE5LNDpVHs9VQToacmB4gYQYJRSOQm71FULJdf5sc_2D_NxZxphJD6V965bWhMN_iwefmQ7vRH_PeBBOabJX0-mj-P29Lna3o/s1600/Sextant+11.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiHO7_cMG8SXGN3EehVEMqNKRIxSjs-qMVNP-2G8KvkcPwE5LNDpVHs9VQToacmB4gYQYJRSOQm71FULJdf5sc_2D_NxZxphJD6V965bWhMN_iwefmQ7vRH_PeBBOabJX0-mj-P29Lna3o/s1600/Sextant+11.jpg" height="400" width="300" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
It took me a while to figure out how to make one</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
out of chipboard but I think I got the gist of it. :-)</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
The sextant sits on top of the box. I didn't glue it down </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
so I could remove it whenever we wanted to look</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
through our souvenirs in the box. </div>

<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I kept the inside of the box pretty plain partly because</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I was exhausted from constructing the sextant and</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
the mini (haha)!. It's actually an old cigar box</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I found at Goodwill for .99 cents.</div>

<div style="text-align: center;">
I owe a great deal of thanks to <a href="http://gloriascraps.blogspot.com/2014/05/national-scrapbook-day-flip-book.html" target="_blank">Gloria Stengel</a>. I absolutely </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
love her <a href="http://gloriascraps.blogspot.com/2014/05/national-scrapbook-day-flip-book.html" target="_blank">mini flip book</a> design and have made</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
several of them using different collections. The one below</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
is the most complex version I've made yet.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgOTtX3CYwgehTWE6JiNP99PjfqbbgZ2KG6nnuGrJfXLf9x-Ct6AxRtLckQkZgwhpS4urVCSo9TIjR8fTzqkI_dlDbwIFHty8CE9k0tRWlWZxns2YM7uM1Rd5jMF3VACYWw6pYT5D1XzgE/s1600/G45+BY+THE+SEA+6.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgOTtX3CYwgehTWE6JiNP99PjfqbbgZ2KG6nnuGrJfXLf9x-Ct6AxRtLckQkZgwhpS4urVCSo9TIjR8fTzqkI_dlDbwIFHty8CE9k0tRWlWZxns2YM7uM1Rd5jMF3VACYWw6pYT5D1XzgE/s1600/G45+BY+THE+SEA+6.jpg" height="300" width="400" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Her original design is approximately 6" x 6". I adjusted</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
the size and made some modifications to the design, but </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
the basic structure is still there. It's a great design </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
and easy to put together. And <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AAyP6mGHxYM" target="_blank">Gloria's tutorial</a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
is excellent!</div>

Graphic 45 May PoleAround these parts, Spring is taking it's dear sweet time making it's entrance so I decided to create a little bit of my own.<br />
<br />
For this project, I created a May Pole using papers from Graphic 45's <a href="http://www.g45papers.com/sweet-sentiments-category" target="_blank">Sweet Sentiments</a>, <a href="http://www.g45papers.com/secret-garden-category/secret-garden-6x6-pattermns-solids-pad" target="_blank">Secret Garden</a>, and a sheet of the <a href="https://www.etsy.com/listing/175198847/graphic-45-little-darlings-cherished?utm_source=google&utm_medium=product_listing_promoted&utm_campaign=supplies_low&gclid=CJTFwKaj1r0CFe07OgodBRcA-g" target="_blank">Cherished</a> paper from their adorable (but retired) Little Darlings collection.<br />

For those who don't know, ATCs are tiny works of art that are always swapped and never sold. They're like trading cards for grow ups. :-)<br />
<br />
<a href="https://www.blogger.com/blogger.g?blogID=7194008227267736936" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"></a><a href="https://www.blogger.com/blogger.g?blogID=7194008227267736936" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"></a><a href="https://www.blogger.com/blogger.g?blogID=7194008227267736936" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"></a>We had a choice of doing either a Paris theme or a traditional Easter theme using the beautiful pastel colors of spring. I couldn't make up my mind, so I melded both themes together and this is the result.<br />
<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjNOdRiVRSjgKqC3J5U2_n9ZBwN7FV-Scu74_sWgafig0D7EbEwZwvXewy2DSicMByfheqaKUlwBqUSsQWQRARpk3aLOJC-9tRZUj-MiHC__a2RjDL18nLLNl-shJJ-N2TPoexX2zL-NtY/s1600/Paris+Easter+1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjNOdRiVRSjgKqC3J5U2_n9ZBwN7FV-Scu74_sWgafig0D7EbEwZwvXewy2DSicMByfheqaKUlwBqUSsQWQRARpk3aLOJC-9tRZUj-MiHC__a2RjDL18nLLNl-shJJ-N2TPoexX2zL-NtY/s1600/Paris+Easter+1.jpg" height="275" width="400" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Voila! Easter in Paris! I found the egg shaped ATC cards through an Etsy seller. I edged the sides with <a href="http://www.amazon.com/Ranger-Holtz-Distress-Dusty-Concord/dp/B000S13HVU" target="_blank">Dusty Concord Distress Ink</a>, then covered the front and back with the pretty <a href="http://shop.hobbylobby.com/products/12-x-12-kirby-teesdale-studio-paper-pack-652685/" target="_blank">Kirby Teesdale</a> paper from Paper Studio (Hobby Lobby). </div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
The flowers in the back are from a beautiful trim I found at Goodwill last year (10 yards for $7.99!!!). The glittery Eiffel Tower is a Jolee sticker.</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhYoTcTSKUYAQLOUjrnsRkAxYpujn5HnyWk6oeT-GpBSUKVrqki9qkzNPiYheNb931OorAUuvoOzI4liDfERG0yP3-8tKfkH64HhrW_ooiVAb28mTjW9DtvUmloHGJ3IDEVmX8-5KpjQ7k/s1600/Paris+Easter+3.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhYoTcTSKUYAQLOUjrnsRkAxYpujn5HnyWk6oeT-GpBSUKVrqki9qkzNPiYheNb931OorAUuvoOzI4liDfERG0yP3-8tKfkH64HhrW_ooiVAb28mTjW9DtvUmloHGJ3IDEVmX8-5KpjQ7k/s1600/Paris+Easter+3.jpg" height="400" width="288" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
I found the springy Victorian ladies online, resized them, and printed them off on some pearlized card stock. The sentiment, "Joyeuses Pasques" (Happy Easter) was also printed on the same card stock. The purple flowers are from an online seller (who's name escapes me at the moment) and the yellow roses are from the $1.50 spot at Michael's. I used an EK Success punch for the green branches.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
This is my first set of ATCs and I think I'm hooked. It's a great project if you're looking to satisfy your urge to make something but are a little short on time. :-) </div>

The challenge was to create a project using a heart shape and it had to be dimensional. <div>
<br /></div>
<div>
A few weeks ago, I found two of these heart shaped plaques at Goodwill for .99 cents each:</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
They were cute, in an 80-ish kind of way, </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
but I wanted to dress them up a little so....</div>

<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
....this was the end result. :-)</div>

<div style="margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0px; text-align: center;">
February Cut Aparts again for this project . </div>

<div style="margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0px; text-align: center;">
from my stash. It stands about 8" tall and can </div>

sit on the easel as shown below or be hung</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0px; text-align: center;">
from a peg. The pretty pink bauble at the top</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0px; text-align: center;">
was another Goodwill find. </div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Valentine's Day is only a few days away and I need to get busy on some masculine/boy themed Valentine's for my sweeties and I still have a couple of projects to complete for the Artful Creation Contest! But it was nice to take a break and create this very girly project for my favorite holiday!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">

Blessings!</div>

I used the following items from Lucky's box of supplies:<br />
<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
White lace</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Silver mesh</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
12 x 12 and 6 x 6 sheets of grey cardstock</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Pearls and rhinestones</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Silver metallic pleated trim</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
White satin pleated trim</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
"PARIS" bling</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Black mesh bling</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Crystal acrylic chandelier drop</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Large deep red velvet rose</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhuL6xepViXIiYo7Jx6BIk2hSxBCzBcmBggKf3lEKKvuiKgOKJjcJI0Tza9IyVzqd58ULti3P31cyHuUe7xENe67fR9dG7miXFaJx8TNbvnshiSW3Ydi66rxAeH4fv4IXC9fkwSXRiSTA4/s1600/Valentine+Tussie+Mussie.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhuL6xepViXIiYo7Jx6BIk2hSxBCzBcmBggKf3lEKKvuiKgOKJjcJI0Tza9IyVzqd58ULti3P31cyHuUe7xENe67fR9dG7miXFaJx8TNbvnshiSW3Ydi66rxAeH4fv4IXC9fkwSXRiSTA4/s1600/Valentine+Tussie+Mussie.jpg" height="640" width="387" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I started by printing a black pattern on the grey card stock</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
using a large damask stamp. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Next I formed the tussie mussie. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I inserted layers of the white lace, silver mesh, and</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
some black lace I had on hand. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I added the pretty deep red rose, a smaller off white </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
paper rose, and a grey paper flower I created using</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
the smaller sheet of card stock and a flower punch. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I created the stickpin with some beads I had on hand</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
and some of the "PARIS" bling Lucky included</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
in the kit. Behind it is a small white feather spray</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I found in Hobby Lobby's wedding section.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
the Eiffel Tower in the back was cut from some </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Paris themed wrapping paper I hand. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
For the cone, I die cut a doily and heart using my</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
dies from Cottage Cutz. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I adhered three rhinestones to the heart for </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
added bling and hung the acrylic chandelier</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
drop to the bottom. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
The red, white, and grey paper roses are from my stash. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Behind them is another white feather spray </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
from Hobby Lobby.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I used the black bling as a dangle and also </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
wrapped it around the bottom of the cone. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Below that, I wrapped the silver and white pleated trims. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Lastly, I cut the silver mesh into strips and attached</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
it to the bottom of the cone. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
This was way off my usual style. I'm not a big fan of the Paris theme but I like how this turned out. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Blessings,</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Millie</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>

I die cut the leaves from the green glitter paper</div>

a crown for a fairy princess. :-)</div>

<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I also adhered some of the pink holographic circles to </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
the center of each flower on the lace. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
At the bottom of the base, I adhere some white satin pleated </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
ribbon that came in the box. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br />
EVERYTHING was liberally glittered with Stickles! Of course!<br />
Still have some ideas for more projects. Hoping to get to them<br />
before the deadline.<br />
<br />
<div style="text-align: left;">
Blessings,</div>

Thanks to all of this polar air, I've been spending a lot of time daydreaming about Spring!<br />
<br />
Below are most of the items I used from the wonderful box sent by Lucky:<br />
<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
In addition to the items below, I used a cute little wooden dress form </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
and a 6"x6" sheet of pretty scrapbook paper she put in the box. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
The silk orchid I used was actually a light green color and </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I also used a white silk lily that was also included in the box.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjComw7eo74vjj6jl_hzjsEitUrxdTDHa41ZIFPTTRRxJyyLGNcSinOYeYK-_JcWvutO_z_DfZlLnKsBtnC07s1okKuPkHVQ2fUKOV7BVIQVfpZGdzXU4rds9XXusnx6_5eW5zoIlxuTEA/s1600/CCL+ALTERED+CORRUGATED+1.jpeg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjComw7eo74vjj6jl_hzjsEitUrxdTDHa41ZIFPTTRRxJyyLGNcSinOYeYK-_JcWvutO_z_DfZlLnKsBtnC07s1okKuPkHVQ2fUKOV7BVIQVfpZGdzXU4rds9XXusnx6_5eW5zoIlxuTEA/s1600/CCL+ALTERED+CORRUGATED+1.jpeg" height="300" width="400" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
This is the result. My little reminder that Spring is on it's way!</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I whitewashed a piece of corrugated cardboard and adhered </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
the whole piece to it. I've had the vintage photo for a while</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
and thought she was perfect for the project.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi8YQA220Sp7qYp4gdnp5TXthHxnejcCrHd04oJgm5JivA-95daMryGeoXl3t3zde8owbNjYsgWmMfQMUTWZRSAIXSFuRgimIyQaaRtwa9kxKkcEKvNIShdko6CEb88NE44oJ17kjbGU4E/s1600/CCL+ALTERED+CORRUGATED+BOARD+2.jpeg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi8YQA220Sp7qYp4gdnp5TXthHxnejcCrHd04oJgm5JivA-95daMryGeoXl3t3zde8owbNjYsgWmMfQMUTWZRSAIXSFuRgimIyQaaRtwa9kxKkcEKvNIShdko6CEb88NE44oJ17kjbGU4E/s1600/CCL+ALTERED+CORRUGATED+BOARD+2.jpeg" height="400" width="300" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
The punchinella in the background was painted white then glittered</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
with the iridescent glitter we were sent. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Created the stickpin using some of the beads from the box. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
The metal heart charm was from my stash.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I prepped it with gesso then painted on some </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Lindy's in blues and greens.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
The dress form was also whitewashed. I made the skirt using </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
the pretty silk lily adhered one of the sheer white flowers, and then </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
attached one of the pretty yellow dangling beads.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I think the sheer green ribbon was also from the box </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
(can't remember). I adhered another pale yellow gem</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
and another yellow bead dangle. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
The glittery aqua flower was punched from some of the card stock </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
included in the box. The butterflies were also punched</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
from very light aqua card stock I received as well.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
I think that's everything. I have a few more ideas for projects using the remainder of the supplies we were sent so I'll be working on those this week.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Blessings,</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Millie</div>

After dismantling it a couple of times (and with some help from my 9 year old and his growing artistic eye) I managed to finally finish this today.<br />
<br />
These are the items I used from the box that Lucky sent me:<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh7Uc20kqTo0k8VEEqkyddOqGHzNB37w-DYicFG61OlMVUhzl7BjV6UBC_ZT81c7thKTmSHoQzN5DTzw7UxhL1Yg2FRfu2mguZgHxD2a9YsMO3w5n2r6sPumuTgVjzbzeJsj2MMSPlxQG0/s1600/DSC01926.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh7Uc20kqTo0k8VEEqkyddOqGHzNB37w-DYicFG61OlMVUhzl7BjV6UBC_ZT81c7thKTmSHoQzN5DTzw7UxhL1Yg2FRfu2mguZgHxD2a9YsMO3w5n2r6sPumuTgVjzbzeJsj2MMSPlxQG0/s400/DSC01926.JPG" width="186" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjc0VD_FxaJ1rjdQMRV_g969-1k1QFwuLnGppNiLOKvgaPF5D_2md896Bd5IK-QdikZ7QLDLmU0LO5uLd7LTAHTmmvTZ1NUEcD_fDUd5k8f76RzlYEoTiziRf59XPRUcADyW0PDSycAYWo/s1600/CCL+DRESSFORM+1.jpeg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="300" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjc0VD_FxaJ1rjdQMRV_g969-1k1QFwuLnGppNiLOKvgaPF5D_2md896Bd5IK-QdikZ7QLDLmU0LO5uLd7LTAHTmmvTZ1NUEcD_fDUd5k8f76RzlYEoTiziRf59XPRUcADyW0PDSycAYWo/s400/CCL+DRESSFORM+1.jpeg" width="400" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
And this is the end result. I wanted the dress form to be</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
functional, so I attached a clip to the top to hold</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
a small monthly calendar and a few mementos.<br />
The pretty lady in the photo is my mom. She would have<br />
looked smashing in a dress like this! :-)</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhlXaJb-ABlJbMXBPYwRO6oZBvtwc1yTp0KmR6sRe_E4w4QjNsj7Dhgls9MoaV6MPHV5T7Kb7zkTjBCbS1hTrFjliGA56IinKrKqtEs44gGbAu_vNElGOmF6pi-neITkmYpnHSYeh8qYvA/s1600/CCL+DRESSFORM+2.jpeg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhlXaJb-ABlJbMXBPYwRO6oZBvtwc1yTp0KmR6sRe_E4w4QjNsj7Dhgls9MoaV6MPHV5T7Kb7zkTjBCbS1hTrFjliGA56IinKrKqtEs44gGbAu_vNElGOmF6pi-neITkmYpnHSYeh8qYvA/s400/CCL+DRESSFORM+2.jpeg" width="280" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
I gave everything a white wash with some gesso </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
just to soften the lines a bit.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0px; text-align: center;">
This is where my 9 year old helped out.</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0px; text-align: center;">
I originally had this grey pleated skirt on the left side of the dress.</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0px; text-align: center;">
He told me it looked uneven. He was right! :-)</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiXAuAfxE2vQCY-W2jVkmrLWdzVsSsb8UgXw6ds9v_LBIAFroydJVWp-qZnXdzvFrRoUCXNETUml7yunQfQDhFAUxL9m-K8cDOWweXAImNQa_6ZCawPfFVvBGfBhSAQCwzFhqhNgY5SXgI/s1600/CCL+DRESSFORM+3.jpeg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiXAuAfxE2vQCY-W2jVkmrLWdzVsSsb8UgXw6ds9v_LBIAFroydJVWp-qZnXdzvFrRoUCXNETUml7yunQfQDhFAUxL9m-K8cDOWweXAImNQa_6ZCawPfFVvBGfBhSAQCwzFhqhNgY5SXgI/s400/CCL+DRESSFORM+3.jpeg" width="300" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
Close up of the skirt. I made the flower with the large</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
pearl using my flower punch and the brownish</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
cardstock Lucky sent in the box. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
The rest of the flowerscame from the box.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Hard to see, but the charms dangling from the skirt are a </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
purse and a key. The leaves were originally green,</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
but I used the fine silver glitter to bling them up</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
a bit and to match the color scheme. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgBOvmpKLZMfiyuL9lKw7mEAR4m0zI7L92JMQ40igxOPF4l9ktdlu_pNfyM0rwVJ_WfdYxAapBiDXSxeP4Eeb9dsvN-QmNjRKTCXiwjApUOF-zubllGuhmKWx9wszmlKytI1KDNKJGDNvc/s1600/CCL+DRESSFORM+4.jpeg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgBOvmpKLZMfiyuL9lKw7mEAR4m0zI7L92JMQ40igxOPF4l9ktdlu_pNfyM0rwVJ_WfdYxAapBiDXSxeP4Eeb9dsvN-QmNjRKTCXiwjApUOF-zubllGuhmKWx9wszmlKytI1KDNKJGDNvc/s400/CCL+DRESSFORM+4.jpeg" width="300" /></a></div>

<div style="text-align: center;">
Backside. I ran a stitch through the lace and the silver mesh,</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
then gathered to give it volume. </div>

<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Happy with the way this turned out. Now on to Project #3!!!</div>

Everyone essentially received the same items, just in different colors. The challenge is to use the items in the box to create at least 3 projects. The members of the CCL Ning site will vote to determine the winners. Thanks to Misty (<a href="http://mbtreasurista.com/index.php?route=common/home" target="_blank">MB Treasurista</a>) for providing the prizes for this fun contest!<br />
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
This is what I received in my box:</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEibjlkqzRrbB2fJYP8iCMsbDuZymOQPWI5p_GuR5jfvnnQHqJOOMAZ4Wq2SvODLLN9uEghjdq_qwZMf5MRt7usXRKt-sxpb23PvxU9b-kDjtnkhKYibfziArtxdoCttkpxwfJwnOtIx0rs/s1600/DSC01923.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEibjlkqzRrbB2fJYP8iCMsbDuZymOQPWI5p_GuR5jfvnnQHqJOOMAZ4Wq2SvODLLN9uEghjdq_qwZMf5MRt7usXRKt-sxpb23PvxU9b-kDjtnkhKYibfziArtxdoCttkpxwfJwnOtIx0rs/s1600/DSC01923.JPG" height="300" width="400" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
As soon as I opened it, my wheels were turning. I immediately pulled out the items below for the 1st project:</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj_QJ6bGSp96-MYDoi5PSmFMvn4-hO4DcYGuVotp7HwjwkJtE0KMhj19Gxac9lfe4k6Ug9jSMUd7Og1ssl4eLrL_g6TVSd28qGApSPDLElZr-O4ea8xGMkUq86OBUYoRvWF_35Ft3D0-c4/s1600/image.jpeg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj_QJ6bGSp96-MYDoi5PSmFMvn4-hO4DcYGuVotp7HwjwkJtE0KMhj19Gxac9lfe4k6Ug9jSMUd7Og1ssl4eLrL_g6TVSd28qGApSPDLElZr-O4ea8xGMkUq86OBUYoRvWF_35Ft3D0-c4/s1600/image.jpeg" height="300" width="400" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
And this is my 1st entry:</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjNO242LAWJAIyd3KGMF61qXYerrzUc9OcGVkpMsEgWY3ag5yf7V53kn7mpIT8ofFg9oIcdykuHZEmU-VUYfk4Fl8A6FI8Py6qL_d7VGDYC2YnmewfbArLSEHUFpheWGYYjGxRwrJLUyvk/s1600/image(1).jpeg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjNO242LAWJAIyd3KGMF61qXYerrzUc9OcGVkpMsEgWY3ag5yf7V53kn7mpIT8ofFg9oIcdykuHZEmU-VUYfk4Fl8A6FI8Py6qL_d7VGDYC2YnmewfbArLSEHUFpheWGYYjGxRwrJLUyvk/s1600/image(1).jpeg" height="400" width="300" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
A Valentine Spool!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
I used elements from <a href="http://www.g45papers.com/place-in-time-category/february-cut-aparts" target="_blank">Graphic 45's Place in Time collection (February Cut Aparts)</a>. I made the spool using two round coasters and a TP roll. I purchased the pretty red velvet ribbon from Michael's, last year after Christmas. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
I took half of a clear plastic heart ornament and covered it with some of the pretty gold metallic mesh fabric that Lucky included in the box. After I attached the lovely lady, the stamps, and the "Kisses" sentiment, I propped it up in the very large and lovely red velvet rose that came in the box. I glitzed up the small wooden cherubs with the iridescent glitter that was in the box and attached them on either side of the image. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
The stick pins were created from beads that also came from the box. The pretty pink flower was coffee stained to give it a more vintage look. I attached another bead from the box in the center of the flower. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Lucky also included a lot of different charms so I combined three of them (a heart, a key, and some pink faceted beads) and attached them to the front. It's hard to see, but behind them are a couple of sheer white flowers, also from the box. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
The bases of the spool were covered with some gold glitter paper. It already had adhesive on the back so it was a breeze to attach. The pearl trim was also self stick and I placed it around each base to finish it off. The brown ruffle trim reminded me of Valentine chocolates so I placed it at the top and bottom. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
I LOVE how this turned out. Win or lose, it was a fun project! Now on to Project #2!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Blessings,</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Millie</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>

<div style="text-align: center;">
I stamped the Bible verse on acetate using </div>

StayZ On ink in Jet Black and adhered it to a frame</div>

<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
I did a lot of "fussy cutting" to achieve a dimensional look. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
The "Believe" sentiment is, once again, from my friends at </div>
